Here's how

Jesus was both man and God 

Let this mind be in you,

which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God,

thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation,

and took upon him the form of a servant,

and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man,

he humbled himself,

and became obedient unto death,

even the death of the cross (Phil 2:5-8).

JESUS' COMING  

Jesus' first coming was for His blood to be shed to save mankind from sin and death/damnation (Luke 1:47, Heb 9:12, 22). He lived on earth, was killed on the Cross, and was then buried (John 19:42). However, Jesus rose from death on the third day, and after 40 days, He went back up to heaven (Acts 1:3-9).

Jesus will have a second coming; this time He will come to judge mankind (Rev 19:11-13). 

WHO MAN IS 

• God created man in His own image (Gen 1:26)

• God loves man unconditionally (Rom 8:38-39)

• Mankind has been given responsibilities and rules (commandments) to follow  (Matt 22:37-40)

• Nevertheless, God gave mankind free will; that is, everyone has the power to decide for himself (Josh 24:15) more>

THE PURPOSE OF LIFE

Creation's main purpose is to please God (Rev 4:11).

​

 

 

"Fear God, and keep his commandments:

for this is the whole duty of man" (Eccl 12:13).

THE DEVIL

He is real. The devil was created by God (Ezek 28:13)

Satan is not equal to God in power, or otherwise (1 John 4:4)

He recruited a third of the angels to help him rebel against God, but God defeated him (Rev 12:14) more>

 

MAN'S ENEMY 

• Eph 6:12 tells us that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against devils.

• The devil tempted Eve to sin which caused 'the fall of mankind' (Gen 3:13-14)

• Satan's mission is to tempt, deceive, steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) more>

WHAT IS SIN?

Sin is disobedience to God. The end result of sin is death/eternal damnation (Rom 6:23). There are two ways to sin:

• By doing the bad things—that God has told us NOT to do, e.g., adultery, lying, or being proud (Ps 51:4)

• By NOT doing the good things—that God has told us to do, e.g., not giving, or not resting (Eze 16:49-50).

SALVATION FOR MAN

Each person will have to give an account of his life to God on Judgment Day. Thereby, he will either go to:

• eternal life: "to be with Christ" (Phil 1:23), or

• the second death: in hell, "the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matt 25:41).

A person is saved from damnation by God's grace (Eph 2:8).

Salvation involves:

1. using faith more>

2. accepting and confessing Jesus as Lord more>

3. repenting more>

4. being baptised more>

5. continuing to live a right life more>

THE WORD

Thankfully, God has provided a manual for man to live by. It is the Word of God. "Man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD" (Deut 8:3). more>

The Word of God is:

• true (2 Sam 7:28)

• powerful (Heb 4:12)

• able to heal and deliver (Matt 8:8, 16) more>

HOW MAN HEARS GOD

Man may hear God audibly; otherwise, he could 'hear' God through a thought, revelation, feeling, urge, or conviction. God speaks to man as he worships, prays, reads the Written Word of God, etc.

GOD THE TEACHER 

One of God's roles is that of the Teacher (Job 36:22, 1 John 2:27). God teaches everyone, not only believers. Take the case of farmers where God instructs and teaches them to plow, sow, and reap different crops (Isa 28:24-26). 

Jesus was also a Rabbi which means Teacher/Master; thus, His followers are called disciples/students (Matt 9:11). He also wants all mankind to learn from Him (Matt 11:28).

WHAT WE DO 

Our purpose to offer a helping hand to our fellowmen. We hope to follow in Jesus' footsteps. He taught extensively during His time on earth. He also taught us by His example, as He became a servant who even washed man's feet, and then He told us to do the same to one another (John 13:14, Phil 2:7).

​

We endeavour to serve with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control: (oh, by the way) against these, there is no law (Gal 5:22-23).

We also hope to be cheerful whilst serving. "Each person should do as he has decided in his heart — not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Cor 9:7).
